The container, which was returning empty from the isles, was brought onto the quayside safely and operations continued as normal.

Streamline Operations Director Phil Bremner said ‘at around 18:15 this evening, while our normal discharge and reload operation was in progress, a jammed twistlock caused the empty container below to slew out across the side of the vessel on lifting. We took the precaution of securing the lower container prior to reopening the link to ensure it could be handled in a controlled manner. There was no risk to staff or cargo at any point.”
