History
In 1984 the company commenced a scheduled container freight service from Aberdeen to Shetland. Comprehensive stevedoring facilities begin trading during 1985 In 1987 additional container freight services to Orkney were introduced. During 1989 the Group diversified into general UK haulage, transport, distribution and warehousing, specialising in the Scottish door-to-door market. Early 1990, Glasgow depot opened providing English clients with a "One Stop Shop" distribution facility, as well as a consolidation centre for all North traffic from the Scottish Central Belt to Aberdeen, Inverness and beyond. Company introduces new innovation in customer care : NO POD - NO DELIVERY CHARGE. Purpose built Head Office & Terminal facilities in Aberdeen are completed during 1995. Additional newly built premises in Shetland are completed during 1996. Extensive "rolling" investment programme introduced during 1999 to replace plant & equipment, vehicle fleet, trailers & containers. "Investor in People" award gained during 2000. In house Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor appointed during 2000. Company expands into the "home delivery" market throughout Scotland to meet internet growth. Two acres of prime land purchased in Orkney during 2000 to accommodate a purpose built distribution terminal. Early 2000, Glasgow depot relocates to larger distribution facilities to meet demand for transport, storage & distribution services. Summer 2002, brand new office and depot facilities opened in Inverness. Winter 2002, twenty two new 13.6m Reefer Trailers added to the fleet to meet planned expansion into the refrigerated market. Formation of an International Division April 2003 Exhibition Services Division launched July 2003 Supply Chain Management Division launched October 2003 Archieval Storage & Retrieval Division launched October 2005 |
